I felt it would seem like I was just fleeing into the distance all sneaky-like if I didn't at least say a little something before taking a hiatus (because I've already done the minimum up till now and have felt aweful for doing so little...)
And that is exactly what this is for-just sort of solidifying the fact for a few that life has been too busy for a game like this and I'm taking the summer off to work before coming back to school. Whether or not I resume playing in the fall is another question I'll have to answer later on, but until then, Twins and Shuichi (badluckprodigy) are on an extended summer vacation...or something.

Hikaru and Kaoru woke up to the usual annoying Thursday morning alarm signaling their day of work. Seeing as the alarm was on Hikaru's side today, and he seemed to be making no attempt to turn it off, Kaoru shifted and reached across to click the off button. That is, until he felt his suddenly long hair fall in his face and his new chest accessories bump against Hikaru's shoulder...or were those Hikaru's new chest accessories as well that he'd just bumped into?

//"What the hell..?"// Kaoru murmured, voice a lot higher than he'd remembered it being yesterday.

The weekend had proven to be enough of a distraction that Hikaru hadn't taken out the mini spy camera once. He had class in two days and hadn't taken a single picture. As he fiddled with the camera, he considered just turning off the lights and 'attacking' Ranma and his brother with shots from the camera. Kaoru was researching a bit of music theory online for his guitar lessons while Ranma...was only doing one of his various exercises.

//"Hey Ranma? You finisht that spy tech homework yet..?"//

A few quick knocks on Matilda's door announced the twin's arrival. Since Friday, they'd been wanting to play with Napoleon and give him the little kitty toys they'd made while at work. Hoping Matilda wasn't in class at the moment, they waited outside her room to see if she'd answer.

After snatching Matilda away from her room sometime that morning, the twins and her made their way over to the mainland. It was a day for "shopping". Or, that was what they had told her they were taking the trip for.

Their real mission: to stop stalling and finally get Matilda her Christmas present.

It was only Tuesday, but collectively the twins had already been to four classes. It was kind of disappointing that already after the first day, they had a two page paper to write.

//"Ethics seems interesting...the teacher's just a little freaky..."// Kaoru made a face, shuddering a little bit as he remembered the scary breathing and entirely black outfit. Lord Vader looked like he was the type of teacher that could and would literally eat kids alive.

//"Defense against malicious magic is a little weird...at least Setsuna's in my class."// Hikaru looked over his syllabus's, trying to get an understanding for what he should be looking forward to. Both had been searching the internet for Matilda's Christmas present. They'd been slacking since they'd gotten back from their trip and every day they stalled, the further it got from Christmas.

//"This one's cute.."// Kaoru smiled as they flipped through a website full of pictures.

//"No! This one! This one with the blue eyes~"//

Dee dee, doo deet, dee dee, doo deet...

Kaoru moaned a little at the sound of the ring tone. What was...Kyouya-sempai calling so early for? Their alarm clock hadn't even gone off yet, which meant they technically had time to sleep before going to work.

Dee dee, doo deet, dee dee doo deet...

Despite the annoyance of the call, Kaoru fumbled a little before grabbing the cell and answering, //"Hello?....Yea, hold on, I'll get them up."// He sat up with the cell at his ear, turning to shove at Ranma and Hikaru so they could get in on this call. However. Once Kaoru turned his head to look at them, he couldn't help but notice the very...interesting position the two seemed to have acquired sometime last night.

//"...I'll call you back in a few minutes, Kyouya-sempai....Yea....Okay, bye."// Click Kaoru set the phone in his lap before turning back to Ranma and Hikaru. Unless this was part of one of Hikaru's weird impromtu plans.... he really didn't know why they were... spooning....

After finally getting a restful night's sleep, the twins hung out in their room playing computer games. They were trying to kill some time before going out to the lawn-it was 'let's be big brothers to Haruhi' day. They found it rather amusing to think that Tono's roles back in the Host Club were coming back to haunt them.

The second the twins got back to their rooms they flopped on the bed. Yes. Another exhausting fifteen hour flight and they were back at Fandom, back to school, and back to speaking English.

//"Naa...School starts soon. Break wasn't long enough.."// Hikaru whined in a muffled voice, head down in the blankets.

//"It would have been worse back home. We'd have homework over break."// Kaoru flopped back next to his twin, missing their huge room back home. These dorms were so small in comparison...

With their vacation ending the next day, and another long flight in their futures, it was nice to finally be getting to the main point of their trip: the New Year’s celebration. Although their Christmas’s had been separate, they’d met up during the week for some less than ordinary excursions-not to mention a lovely little surprise for the twins.
Hikaru and Kaoru’s mother had finally finished their traditional kimono for the occasion, red silk with black and yellow dragonflies skimming over the surface. She’d even done a few adjustments to another for Matilda to wear; one of last season’s kimono, a lovely silk with an array of blue waves and small orange koi dotting its surface.
Once all had been properly dressed-it was still winter after all-they were all taken to the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo to count down the New Year and hear the temple bells ring.

//“It’s funny, we’ve never actually spent the New Year the traditional way before.”// Kaoru tugged his kimono a big closer, despite wearing suitably warm clothing underneath.
//“Yea, our parents usually throw a party or something.”// Hikaru stuck his hands inside of his sleeves to warm them, glancing around at all the people. //“I see why. It’s so crowded at these places.”//
